How long is the straightaway at the track

If you look at google earth, they have recently updated the image of the track - It is nice and clear now. The straight technically measures about 410 feet between corner 5 and corner 6. If you look at it from a driving perspective, GPS data off of my 125 shifter shows that I am on the gas accelerating for about 300 feet of that.

Thanks, Richard
I'm running a chonda and can almost go flat out into turn 6 with my gearing now.
My RPM's are max at about half way down the strait now. I want it to pull longer and needed the measurement so I can test at my shop where the MPH tops out.
I think I can be on the gas 400 of the 410' with the chonda as were not getting the speed your shifter is.
Thanks for the info

Most folks are running 4.2 to 4.6 ratios. With a 12 tooth driver 50-55 rear, 13 tooth driver 55-60 rear, 14 tooth driver 59-65 rear. I'm on the heavy side and running 4.6 ratio (front 13- rear 60), a lighter racer could run closer to a 4.2 ratio. BUT... I hope to have the intake restrictors in effect soon and that probably will change what ratio to run for restricted engines.
The next Test n Tune will most likely be Friday Aug 13th 6:30 PM and I would like to run the restrictors then to see the affects on gear ratios.

My favorite thing is to go where I've never been.

I started 12-60 ratio 5.00 and the motor would top out on RPM's about halfway down the straight but pulled off the corners real good.
Then I went to 12-56 ratio 4.67, the motor would not reach top rpm until going into the turn at the end and did not pull out of the corners vary good at all.
The next test & tune I'm going to 12-58 ratio 4.83 and that should be good.
I look for the motor to pull good off the corner and hit top RPM's at about 3/4 of the way down the straight.
Once you start running with others and put in good laps you will be able to see when you are giving speed away and then you can adjust the kart and the gearing.
If the club puts the SWRC rules in with the right carb plates to Kart and driver weight I'm sure the the gearing will change some.

Floyd, I know that you are trying to help get more Chondas out there, so if you know anyone who would like one of the older style mychrons let me know. I have one that seems to work fine, but I dont need it. I am willing to give it away for a chonda build. Also, I am trying to get mine together and would like to know what a good starting point for rear track width is (I have about 50 and 1/2 from edge of tread). Also, I have YHC bridgestones, are those okay? what pressures should I start with? also, What Oil has everyone been running in their chonda? Thanks for any help people have to offer!

I have just realized how many more questions I have about various things on my chonda build. If anyone has a few minutes to answer any questions, please give me a call 281-678-4394. I ran into a problem when mounting my pulse. My cover is a different bolt pattern than what they show on the videos, which is making it difficult to drill my pulse line.

Sorry about the size, I am not sure how this site works for changing sizes.
